…this zoom is better than the LWTS!
– Steven Seagal, ShotShow 2014
SPI ZOOM TECHNOLOGY
The PAS-15 utilizes ultra fast GERMANIUM optics which maximize thermal transmission to the sensor producing an exceptional quality image. The coated optics give you a 4.5x true optical power which is then combined with the internal digital zoom for an effective total zoom range of 18x! Beware of low cost lenses that sacrifice material quality or speed for price. A long range thermal scope needs a BIG LENS. With PAS-15 there is no compromise.
PAS-15 110,592 PIXELS!
320X240 SENSORS (The Competition)
HIGH RESOLUTION SENSOR
More pixels means you see more at further distances. Competing scopes all use the exact same tired 320×240 (76,000 pixel) sensor. They are literally all the same except for the housing and buttons. The PAS-15 uses a new 110,592 pixel thermal sensor that gives you a whopping 30% greater pixel density. The increased resolution is mandatory if you want to get the most out of your long range thermal scope. MORE PIXELS, because we really want you to shoot the HOG not the DOG!
RECORD THERMAL VIDEO
CAPTURE THERMAL VIDEO
Easily record thermal video and JPEG images on standard SD Memory Cards with the PAS-15. Originally developed as an evidentiary tool for Law Enforcement and Military operators, this advanced technology is now standard on the PAS-15. On your next hunt all you have to do is push a single button and you can share all the excitement back home without ever missing a shot. With the PAS-15, MEMORIES ARE MADE WITH THE TOUCH OF A BUTTON.
FULL GAIN / LEVEL CONTROL
AUTO AND MANUAL CONTROL
The PAS-15 and all other thermal scopes have Automatic Gain/Level control. This is nothing special. But, only the most advanced military scopes give the user the option of adjusting the gain and level because in critical situations MANUAL control is critical to maximize mission performance. Auto Gain Level (AGC) is great when you are in the lab looking across the room and it should work reasonably well in 70% of all situations. But in common situations (seeing too much sky across an open field, heat anomalies at sunset or hot Texas nights) the AGC will wash out your image making your scope useless. This is unacceptable in a long range thermal scope. Its like having a race car that is only an automatic. Sure, it will shift gears better than a human some of the time but when the pros want to get the most out of the car the driver has to be able to shift gears on his own. Would you want the computer to decide what shots to take? You are the HUNTER not the computer so Don’t let the scope tell YOU what to do and don’t settle for a scope that only works 70% of the time. Get the PAS-15 and TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR SCOPE.
A long range lens must have a means of focus so that you can clearly see targets at different distances. This is simply a matter of physics and cannot be circumvented by slick talk and vague promises. Stay away from any scope that claims to have “auto-focus” or preset “infinity focus” or “internal focus” or “focus wheel”. What these scopes are really saying is “we are too cheap to put in a proper focus mechanism”. The PAS-15 has a traditional focus system. Turn the lens to focus near and far. Simple, effective and proven to work. True Focus is Easy Focus.
The PAS-15 Long Range Thermal Scope has simple buttons that do what they say they do. Revolutionary concept right? But there are a lot of smart people out there that took the button concept and decided they needed to “make it better”. They designed arrows, on screen menus and even spinning knobs that aren’t even really buttons at all. The onscreen menu crowd said “look I can activate zoom in only three button pushes”. To which the knob lovers replied “well I can do that in just two spins and a polish”. I guess we are just not that smart because with the PAS-15 if you want to zoom you just push the button that says “ZOOM”. Same for POLARITY, SHUTTER, VIDEO CAPTURE, etc. Sure, we also have some onscreen menus for less used features like setting the date and time but when seconds count and your target comes into view we don’t want you polishing knobs or searching menus. Just push the button and SHOOT!
